I've got a bad cold.... sneeze..:(
To take revenge on the world, I placed an sm-57 in front of my battery-operated Pignose "amp" and played havoc with it!!!

Made me happier...:o

i'd love to hear the drums a bit more, and with more low end in them. especially the kick.

This little Piggy went to HHHHHHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL & back.
I love my porta Pignose - though I've had no luck mic'ing it properly.
Besides using a 57 what & where?
Good metal - Pigs of the Warlord!
It's hard to resist playing up to the real speaker based ditortion isn't it.
Nicely done & FUN!

Reconstruction of the studio. :D

I just stuffed the piggy into a beanbag, placed the mic in frot leaning the bottom edge, then placed a blanket on top to A-muffle the sound from neighbours and B-keep the extra noises (two cats) out.
The full chain:
Dean V with EMG:s --> Zoom tri-metal -->Pignose -->sm57 -->Fostex recorder.

..Needless to say post EQ:ing played a big part.

Yes it was fun!! :D
..not much you can do at home your face oozing stuff allover.:D

"Pigs of the Warlord" :D :D I might name this tune to that.... Nice!

Thanks mate - the little piggy looks oh, so comfy in the b/bag.
Mine's a little busted - the speaker doesn't cut out when I take the line out of the back when using it as a coloured preamp. have you tried using it that way - into say the Epi instead of the pedal?

Yes, it actually has a line out??!!:eek::D

Feeding that into a tube-amp would be the ULTIMATE blasphemy!:D

Yeah, the cats use the beanbag, I borrowed it to muffle AND reduce the rattling of the exterior.. clasp, mainly.
I like how the leads actually sound like out of a very small box.:D

..Next time I'll shove the whole thing higher, on a bookshelf maybe, and take advantage of the fact you can have feedback at VERY low volumes.:D

Guitar playing - sweet
Drumming - sweet
Bass - sweet
Tone on guitar - sweet
Recording - a few hiss spots but nothing major - sweet
Not buzzy metal at all which can be a turn off... the eq may be the difference ;)
What can I say - sweet!

:D:):D:)

how is that drum pad you have? Yamaha dd30 or something like that? How sensitive are the pads? It can be used as just a midi controller right? Also, are there inputs for pedal controllers for say a kick?

It's playable.. somehow the cymbalsounds can't take any compression in the mix without turningb to weird hiss??.. but yeah, there's two pedals to it, I tried a couple of times them, had to quit since the neighbours started asking; "-What are you building??.. I could hear the pounding through the floor":D:D

you can use it as just a MIDI controller right? Like just use it to trigger other drum sounds like ez drummer or something? Or does it not have any MIDI capability? I don't care about the sounds it comes with. I'm just looking for a MIDI drum controller and figured that might be a decent cheap one to use until I can get a full E drum kit.

Yes it does act as a midi-controller too. I haven't used that though..:o
I suck as a drummer, but that thing is capable to some intense fills.:D

cool thanks. I was thining about getting a MIDI drum controller to practice drumming on and program drums and that seemed like a cheap choice. E drumkits cost too much money. I figured that would be a viable alternative.
