Sounds scary. I ain't mounting nothing like that on my D-41.

Not scary at all

Just don't use superglue.:D

Sounds to me like the balanced cord theory at work.

Introduce an exact duplicate of an overload vibration to the guitar's top in real time, for a narrow (notched) band of frequency, only reverse its phase and you create a node generating silence where there had been overmodulation.

If you could narrow the offending frequency with a notch filter, it will be the only thing triggering the plate - which would vibrate at only that frequency and be transparent to everything else. So the trick would be to have the signal overload sensed by a really fast oscillator of some kind, phase reversed, and sent to the piezo plate. Narrow the notch, narrow the plate's response.

Kewl!!
