I would think my studio is somewhere between home recording and semi-pro.

Construction/clean up is not quite finished but I do have everything far enough along that we've started tracking. We have 5 full CD projects in various stages of completion. I'll hand over the master for the first project later this week.

I have 1875 sq. ft.

The rooms are:
Control: 18x11
Room A: 15x11
Room B: 12x24
Vocal booth: 6x6 with one angled wall.

All rooms have 11' ceilings. The rest of the sq. footage is kitchen area, bathroom, storage and conference room.

The building itself was built around 1895 and has some cool vibe. Perfect for bluegrass and acoustic music which I specialize in.

Check out the pics here. There are 2 pages. The link to the second page is at the top of page 1.

Remember there is still some work to do however.

Thanks.

Here is an exterior pic.

Is that the Alamo, and if it is can I pee on it.

Looking good, I dig the lights on the yamahas.

This is a real studio.

Wow! Not a response I was expecting!

Yes, directly across the street from the Baker. Good catch!

JBL LSR's ;)

what pretty monitors i must say.

i like the 57 next to the flashlight on the desk.. tools right?

whats that thing in the rack above the amps? CASETTE? geez. i dont even know what that really is ;)

Re: the 57 - My band has started our second CD and I used it to record some count-ins against the metro for our scratch tracks. :)

Yeah, cassette...I get a fair amount of folks wanting transfer service.

I moved to the JBL's from a pair of Mackie HR-624's. Quite a difference! And I have a 12" Tannoy sub behind the desk to check bass in the mix.

Finally got the place rollin' eh pdlstl?!! cool beans.

Hey uhh.. where's your lava lamp (non exploding type he he ) :D

Is that a FF800?

I have 18 lava lamps. :D Just trying to decide where I want to put them...

No FF800...if your talking about the unit above the MOTU, it's a Behringer headphone amp. The ONLY piece of Behringer gear I own! ;)

Actually sounding much better than expected considering I don't have all of the treatment installed yet. Will post samples soon.

Exactly what I was to say "where is the treatment?"

Well...

I'm a firm believer in rigid fiberglass and make use (or will make use) of it in every room. I have a great source in Fort Worth where it's always available and relatively inexpensive.

However, I also dig Auralex! I think it serves a viable purpose and also looks nice. I know there are those (some quite noteable) who poo-poo acoustical foam. However, when I surf the big boys studios, often times there it is! Auralex. I guess I figger that they must have it for a reason. I also think that some clients expect to see foam in a studio. Plus, I get a deep discount on it at GC. :)

But I would never use the inexpensive foam which could kill me if it caught fire.
