Hello,

I am building a studio at home. I want to buy a microphone and I'm planning on recording electric guitar, electric bass guitar and vocals with it.
I am thinking a condenser mice will suit my needs better than a dynamic because I like my sound to be warm and full. I do not know a lot about microphones
but I have done some research. My budget is maxed at 200 euro's. I know it is tricky to find a mice that has quality and is capeble of recording bass and regular electric guitar as well as vocals,
bit I'd like to try!
Here are some microphones I found on the net that might be what I am looking for:

Marshall MXL V67G
Mxl 990
AKG Perception 220
Rode Nta-1
Shure PG27
JoeMeek JM37
Audio Technica AT2020 USB
T bone sct800

Any advice regarding one of these mice's, or just general advice would be great!
Thanks in advance.

Another nice dynamic is the Beyer m201. Being from Europe, perhaps that is within your budget?

Notice that you have the Joe Meek in your list.
Read THIS thread about Kip4's Joe meek 37DP - He has links to his recordings and all. You can ask him in more detail on that thread what he thinks about it. :thumbs up:

The Meek JM37dp is a great mic detailed and great on everything i've treid it on so far.
I wouldnt go for the mxl 990 or the at2020.
Many people reccomend the v67g.
Arcaxis has a point the 57 is a very versitile mic.
As you say it's expecting a bit much from a single mic to sound great on 3 sources with such a wide freqauncy range.
Good luck

Of your list, the V67G and the Rode NT 1A are the ones that stand out.

However, I strongly recommend you add to your short list the sE X1 which, to my ears knocks any of the other ones you mention out of the ring--excellent clarity, nice warmth for a condenser--basically an excellent mic for the money. However, while checking the Euro price, I noticed that Thomann presently have some B stock sE2200A II mics for 220 Euros. The 2200A is a mic that punches way above it's price--I bought one a few years ago and have now ended up with 3 of them which I use almost daily, often in preference to some of the more expensive brands in my mic cupboard. If you can stretch your budget by 20 Euros and get one of those while Thomann have them, don't think twice...grab one fast!
