It's an old Telex four channel Mark IV cassette duplicator ex Australian Broadcasting Commission. It was a bit wonky to start with but once the heads had a good cleaning, pasting and demagging, and the amp trim pots adjusted it works a treat. It does both sides in one pass then automatically rewinds. It's fast. Click, buzz, whirr, clack - lots of old school mechanical noises.

It sure is solidly built when you get inside it.

Sweet. It does a better job in high speed than my Technics RS-TR515 double recorder deck does at normal speed.

Good score if you can use it;).

The ABC cleared out masses of gear some years ago......R2R decks, duplicators, you name it and it was turning up in s/hand pro audio stores all over the place. I picked up my Yamaha Rev 5 this way.
