Howdy, does anyone know of any good software?

Basically I have a piano midi track, I want to import it into a program and have it export a mp3/wav of the midi but replaced with real piano samples.

I use Cubase SX3 so any VST plugin recommendations are welcome... although I've been through around 15 to find that I actually need a MIDI keyboard for them to be any use!

The best program I've found so far was "Absolute Piano B200" - EXACTLY what I want, but this program adds swing and clipping to the piece which is not good for a high quality CD... I heard it can be input as a VST plugin but it doesn't seem to appear in my list.

Any info please let me know asap, I'd be SO greatful!!!

If you already have a midi file, you should be able to import it to cubase as a midi track and output it through any piano VSTi (VST Instrument) without the need for an actual keyboard. If you google "piano vsti free" you get this. Try a few out. If you are willing to purchase a piano sample library, the quality of your options will increase.

Really??? I had a feeling that this was possible but when trying to import MIDI into the pool, it tells me it's an invalid format and won't do it.

Wow, so all of the piano VSTs I downloaded may actually make some sound this time! How would I go about importing a midi after creating a Midi track? I've tried but can't seem to do it.

Many thanks Scrubs, you've made me pretty happy!!

EDIT: Never mind, found how to import (File > Import > Midi, not through pool)... time to play with some plugins!!!

Sorry to ask again, but... okay - I got the midi into a track, and have loaded up the VSTi. The midi is however, still playing as normal, even when I tweak settings to extremes.

How exactly do I get the midi to be affected by the VSTi? Is it to do with Read and Write automation in some case?

Many many many thanks.

EDIT: Cracked it. I love you scrubs, what may seem like one measly post you made has alone made my week of trying to get this to work.
