Phono Pre-amp to PC Sound Card?

I am using Adaptec software to do LP to CD transfers. I would like to use a cheap phono pre-amp, but can't seem to find one anywhere (even Radio Shack). Having to use an actual stereo receiver which really is a waste.

Thoughts, suggestions?
 
Ummmmm...

What more needs to be said friend. You need to have the RIAA decoding for it to sound right, and you are not able to find a device that will do that, so, you will have to use a home stereo preamp to do so.

You could try a DJ mixer too. I suppose it you were industrius, you could make your own RIAA preamp.

Just use the home stereo preamp and get the job done eh? ;)
