One of the bands I gig with are considering getting hold of one of these for recording rehersalas and gigs just to listen back to arrangements and how toons work. The aim is to be able to stream stuff to a PC and get a rough mix nothing special but good enough so that we can drop tacks in and out after the event to test arrangements. Band is a 4-7 piece depending on gig.
So my questions are.
Is the Helixboard upto the task?
What is the difference between the Helix Board 12 Firewire and the Helix Board 18 firewire? apart from extra Mic/line inputs? Can't seem to see from the Phonic site has anyone researched them before?
Can the Helix Board 12 stream individual tracks to the PC the same as the 18 Helix Board can? Descriptions of the board on various sites seems ambiguous.
Would any one have a better way of doin what we want to do or reccommend better/cheaper solution?
