Reel deep thoughts...
Finally getting some things into the heated dry space of my new-to-me home after its spent many, many months in cold and damp storage. Stuff like hundreds of pounds of 1/4", 1" and 2" tape stock, mics, Ampex MM-1000 headblock assemblies, the 3M halftrack, rack gear...some instruments...its all been buried away out of sight mostly out of mind which has been good otherwise I'd have been distracted worrying about the impact of the environment on the stuff...and who knows...maybe its had an impact but there's nothing I could have done differently about it with all the moving...I'm in my 6th place in the last two years. Been buuuuuusssssyyyyyyy. Finally coming out of the fog of chaos. The MM-1000 is probably going to have to stay out in the garage, but at least I pulled the headblock out of it.

Anyway, there are people here that get what I'm fussing about...

Thanks, fellas. Yes...boredom would be amazing. :D

At least it has made me expert in how to move all the heavy stuff around...need an MM-1000 moved? I am your subject matter expert! :)

But, yes, after so many months of dealing with multiple family dramas, my divorce, all my moves, repairing and selling my fiancée's house, and finding our dream house by the skin of our teeth and be homeless for several weeks in the transition, we're here...everything is almost out of storage...emergent maintenance needs are addressed...everything we do now is an investment in stability. My fiancée is good about reminding me we don't have to do it all at once. But it is a priority as far as she is concerned for me to get my drums setup. ;)

So right now I'm enjoying just about having everything in one place that's both our first choice of a home...the way I'd like things to be seems not so far away now.

Limbo and transition can suck. You're planting some roots from the sound of it.
