Phantom Power Through a Snake?

Does phantom power provided through a mixer still power condensor mics after going through a snake?
 
It depends on the snake:

If the snake uses XLR connectors, wired in the standard way for balanced signals, then the answer is YES. Some of the shorter (<10') snakes are made using single-ended (unbalanced) cable and TS (tip-sleeve) connectors, so phantom power would not be usable with these.

I've never seen 100' snakes which were not balanced. I can't think why anyone would use a 100' un-balanced cable. I've never seen one; that doesn't mean they don't exist, but has anyone else ever used anything of that length un-balanced? I think we should be told! Imagine how much noise and un-wanted signal a 100' length of un-balanced cable could pick up in a noisy environment!

There are some short (<10') snakes which are un-balanced, which are used for patching. For short distances, balanced versus un-balanced is (almost) immaterial...
