Have any of you folks tried this unit or have any experience with it? I have heard good things but I need someones oppinion on it.

I have one. I will NEVER EVER, EVER, go back to anything else. Except maybe upgrade to the $600 Peterson Strobe Tuner. That one isn't a "virtual", its a real one.....I think......but it doesn't matter because I see no need to upgrade anytime soon:D

Buy it. You will not be disapointed. It may take a day or two to get use to, but one you do..................smooth sailing from there:cool:

I also have a VS-1. It's great. Strobe tuners allow for more precision when tuning. This is also especially useful for setting your intonation.

I was going to mention the intonatoin thing. I have never been able to set mine perfect until I got the Peterson.

I have one. Its the only tuner that I have been able to consistantly tune my pedal steels with in noisy environments. Also great for intonation on guitars and basses. Pedal steels have different offsets for each string. This tuner allows you to dial in the offset in cents. There is a new version that is coming out soon that allows you to save this offset for each note.

Replacement model coming

In May, according to the Peterson site, they will ship a version with a built in metronome. I don't know yet if this will replace the VS-1 or not.
