I own one of the Vox version's for Bass... and a couple of the Amazon (Chinese) knockoff brands... they were fun being able to just walk around with my Bass/Guitar and a pair of headphones... but I'd rather just use one of the cheap Amazon (Chinese) wireless units into any small little practice amp instead really...

I have a cheap micro amp that I bought so that I could practice songs between sets at gigs because without it I can't hear shite. there are gigs I play where I am not real familiar with certain songs so I need to play a bit beforehand. Some guys bring small amps to use backstage but I like this better. I don't need great tone or effects so the cheap version works just fine and it actually doesn't sound bad at all.

I just use my PodXT for a headphone based personal amp. Or I used to take my Zoom H4n on work trips, along with a guitar and chord. Add a pair of earbuds and you can practice with that.
