By the same band as my other mp3. This one seemed to come together a lot easier. I haven't put as much work into this one as I have the other and I've been working for about six hours on stuff, so who knows, it probably sounds like some crap right now.

But who cares!

Critique critique critique!

 
Okay, listening to it after last night...

I'm noticing the left guitar is sticking out a bit. Maybe the vox can come up just a tad. The backing vocals don't blend. They just kind of pop out of nowhere and sound bad. I need to bring the solos up a little, maybe centered.

You know, I kind of do, but I know people usually have more important things to do than sit on here downloading tons of other people's crappy mp3s. :) And I'm saying mine's crappy, not everybody elses.

vocals need to come up
I didnt even notice any backing vocals
The snare sounds weak
I think that guitar fills should be panned to the side but leads should be centered.
Kinda sounds like some janes addiction punk type stuff
 
I listened to the song. But I didn't comment. You know... it's just not my genre. And I didn't really feel comfortable commenting .... because I'm not a great engineer. I'm just an average musican with an opinion.

That being said..... I think lyrics in a song should be mostly understood. I've know some great songs that you had to listen to several times to figure out ALL of the lyrics. But you know..... 80% or so should be readily understood in my opinion. I didn't like the drum sound at all. The panning is a matter of art and effect. I've known some great songs that were panned extreme so that doesn't bother me. But.... I'm an old guy..... and I just don't get the "rage.....we're pissed off" thing in music these days.


But don't let that discourage you in any way. Just consider the source..... and rock, and have fun doing it.
 
What didn't you like about the panning of the drums? The OHs are hard l and hard r with the snare and kick right down the middle.

And by the vox being mostly understood, are you saying that you don't hear them in the mix, or you don't understand because of the way he's singing? :D
 
By panning I was talking about the guitars.

Vocals.... louder? I don't know...... that's scary. But hey.... I'm not a good singer... who am I to criticize.

But. Criticize the mix, not the art. :)
 
Criticize the mix not the art? See... I have a tough time separating that. That's one of the reasons I say that I'm not a great engineer. The really good engineer guys here can do that all day.

I listened. The only words I understood was at the beginning of the song when they said "All right" I think :confused: . Actually, I kinda liked the music, which most of the time I don't on a song like this. I'm not good at giving advice on songs like these. Someone will jump in though and let ya know. :)
 
I actually don't know most of the lyrics, either.

Except for the 'cool, what does it mean?' part.

And a few other parts. Yes.
