Hey, i know this has been asked before, but I thought there might be even newer stuff, or something, plus i never really saw anything ever saying what people that is probably the quietest, so i ask again

What do you think is the quietest way to cool a pentium 4. I was looking at a Zalman Copper 7000A-CU but i dont know if it is the quietest. and i want the absolute quietest i can get. except water cooling. i dont want that. i dont know how quiet it gets but i have heard it is quiet

Silent Mode 1350 RPM +-10% 20.0 dB +-10%
Normal Mode 2400 RPM +-10% 25.0 dB +-10%

I just installed a 7000A-CU and it is very, very quiet in "silent mode". I was using a Koolance Exos but even in fan mode 1 (lowest fan setting) it was a little loud. The Zalamn is much quieter than the Exos. I'd recommend the Zalman, no question.

You might want to have a look at the Nexus stuff. Supposedly a little quieter than the Zalman stuff.

regardless of brand, fan noise is a function of fan speed. The slower you can run your fan without burning up your processor the quieter it will be. So once you decide on a fan, pick the largest, most efficient heat sink you can. Let that do most of the work, and run your fan at the lowest possible safe speed. Look at Plycon.com.

Go to the listening room, and you can listen to an audio clip of all the fans they sell!
