This is another nigerian artist doing his thang. The difference is that he does not have any intonation problems like me.

Anyhow, on to what's important. The wildcard.

On his song, WINTER IN JULY, the wildcard consists of five syllables spanning THREE, yes, THREE words. WIthout those five syllables, the song would not be worth a second listen, but because of those notes, he could go multiplatinum. I used to say "multiplatinum on the strength of a song" I think I should amend it to "multiplatinum on the strength of a phrase"

You should only listen to WINTER IN JULY the rest of the songs are not worth the time it takes to download as they dont have a wildcard.

SCORE: B+

I'd give him an A+++ for the Antares alone, but I'm kinda' different. I predict (and I'm just guessing here, based on no actual personal experience) that the Autotune will me met mostly with hostility.

He can obviously sing well...

And caryindy...a "wildcard" is that special "something" that makes a song,...well, special. In this case, it's Autotune :D (and a really good voice)

This song sounds like a million other songs from this genre of pop, so there really is nothing special about it at all.Same common melodies and harmonies that are found in this genre everyday.Great use of autotune though.

I don't know Cyan, this sounds like typical pop to me.. I guess in that respect it could be a hit on the radio.. I actually preferred your song over this..

"this is the wildcard, and the physical manifestation of the wildcard"

that one..

sorry, but that isnt a good song.......

his voice is probably as good as some thats on pop radio, but the song isnt up to snuff.....

Hhhmmm... not really. I hear ya... it's a wildcard. But not a multiplatinum one. It's "ok"... but I found it to be pretty repetitive after the first chorus.

Not bad, but not great.

That's strictly speaking from a taste point of view though. I didn't hear anything in it that made me want to give it a second listen (or finish listening to the first "spin").

Just givin' you my feedback on the wildcard.

I think the singer has a great voice. Nice harmonies. I liked the guitars. All of them. Nice keyboard stuff. Nice bass sound.

Cool enough hook line for the song, but I thought it ended up lyrically weak.

The break at 1:30 was a little too much of a drop off for my tastes. Smooth harmonies when it picked back up though.

I heard what I think is some clipping early in the song - several spots from :07-:12. Heard another one at 1:06.

My thoughts.

Shit, dude, if that's a wildcard, then there's hope for all of us with bland, tired songs. :D
