Pedal mods...

It seems like the Keeley modded stuff is pretty expensive...especially if one is pretty comfy with a soldering iron.

Would these kits do essentially the same thing?

not really. the mods are created to do different things on different pedals. Mostly they take cheap componants and replace them with high end componants that give more fidelity.

There's also Build Your Own Clone if you want to make your own pedal based on a classic design. I just ordered a kit to build a MXR Distortion+ clone... we'll see how it goes.
