PCMCIA Cards with Firewire Ports

Hi, I'm thinking of getting a PCMCIA card that would give me more Firewire ports for my laptop. It appears to me that some PCMCIA cards offer 2 firewire ports, while some offer 3. My concern is, for a PCMCIA card offering 3 firewire ports, would all those ports be able to transfer with the maximum rate (400 Mbps?) at the same time? (say, I connected a device to each of the ports) Or would the PCMCIA interface fail to provide the sufficient bandwidth?

no experience with PCMCIA firewire...

however unless you are planning to run 2 or 3 firewire interface box at the same time, it should not be a concern.... you ARE not doing that, are you.....?
