so, im sure it has been covered many times in here, but if im running computer based recording software on a desktop pc, can anyone recommend how much memory etc, id need.

what kind of requirements am i looking for?
 
You could probably get along just fine with 2GB. I'm using 3GB since I recently rebuilt my computer so I decided to max out Windows XP with 3GB.

An Intel Dual Core or Quad Core Processor will fit the bill nicely. You could probably get by with a Pentium 4 but why bother now since we have the Duos and the Quads.

As long as your hard drives are 7200RPM those will be fine also. I'm gonna put in a 10000RPM Velociraptor. Not because I need it though, merely because I want it.
