Does anyone have a suggestion on what type of software I can install on my (Dell) PC to use in conjuction with my Roland VS-1880? I'm currently using the unit itself to mix down tracks, then I send the mix out of the Master to my PC for burning on CD's.
The reason I'm wanting to install a program is so I can dump my tracks onto the PC and mix them there, or preferably see the work on my monitor as I go along. In addition, I'm wanting to clear some space up on my VS, so I'm hoping there's something out there that will help me accomplish this. Cakewalk comes to mind, although I've never worked with any PC based studio software.
I have a CDRII that goes with the unit, but I've never been able to get it to work right. Furthermore, I simply don't care for it. I'd prefer to just have a program I can view and work with on my PC monitor. I've also tried using the software that came with the unit (I think it's VS Logic), but the PC has never recognized the VS.
I figured since I am getting more serious about my recording, it's time to step it up a notch. Any help with this will be greatly appreciated!
One more thing, I'm trying to figure out how to hook up my old VS-880 to the VS-1880.... and if that can be accomplished, will that give me a total of 26 tracks?
