Is there any PC software that works hand in hand with the Roland 840 or 880? like Cakewalk or Cubase?

If so which version and how?

If not is there any Software that can read each track individually when saved on a ZIP disk?

Any help is appreciated.

i don't believe there is any software that makes the pc compatible with the vs840. your only digital outputs on the vs840 is the coaxial & optical which will only allow you to mix out in stereo or dump one track at a time in to cubase or cakewalk. which would the just be an extra step (and a pain in the butt) if your were going to go to that much trouble you should just record straight into the pc. your scsi output (if you have one) should only transfer data and not signal.

as far as any software being able to read the data off of a zip disk, i don't believe this exist either, i'm sure roland has their own format for the data and it would have to be created by them.

however, i read some where the newest version of the 840 has the ability to mix to a stereo wave file (and maybe mp3s?) which might make the transition a little easier.

i'm not quite as familiar with the 880 so i don't know what the output options are or how the operating system works.
if there is another option out there i would be interested myself. good luck...
