I have a Lexicon MPX 500 and a few other rackmount products that I want to use for effects on our album. After all the tracks are recorded dry onto the PC (MOTU hardware and Logic Platinum software), can I then add effects from the Lexicon? How do you do this?

Thanks!

I am assuming that the motu has multiple inputs right?

connect a stereo out of the motu to the in of the reverb.

Connect the output of the reverb to a stereo in on the motu

go to your environment and create a new object

double click on it and make it an input(as opposed to a track, or bus, or master) set that input to the inputs that the reverbs is on. Make sure to make it stereo.(eg input 5-6)

Now, set one of your busses(preferrably return 1) to the output that you have going to the reverb.(eg output 5-6)

SAVE IT AS YOUR AUTOLOAD SO THAT YOU DONT HAVE TO DO THIS EVERYTIME.

send some of your audio track to that bus(say bus one) now, your reverb is seeing the audio cos its the return, and you can hear the fx because your input object is monitoring that stereo input.

You dont have to save the reverb as a file. As long as the input object is not muted, it will add it in realtime to the bounce.

I think for this to work, you have to set software monitoring to on in your drivers page in logic.

now , for every effect, just create a new input object and dedicate another return to it. That is, till you run out of ins and outs of course.
