PC Prgrams

I know alot of people prefer macs... but if you have a PC what programs work well? I have heard protools is a nightmare? What do you suggest?

I'm using

N-Track Studio (www.fasoft.com) for sequencing

SoundForge5 (www.sonicfoundry.com) for audio editing

FruityLoops (www.fruityloops.com) for drums

ACID Music 2.0 (www.sonicfoundry.com) for bpm shifting and looping

There are hundreds of free plug-ins available across the Web.

And since I got a deal on SoundForge since I had already bought ACID, the whole studio above only set me back <$300.

What kind of music do you do?

I like that these seem to have some really good programs contemporary sounds and loops

I have nuendo... is there any stuff you would recommend for loops and midi? ( i also have an aardvarkQ10)

To download free software i guess i need DSL huh?

I am trying to go for a david Gray type feel .... IE organic songwriter with hip and contemporary loops and grooves...

N-Track w/o DSL

I downloaded N-Track when I still had dial-up, it's actually not that big of a download (might ~ 1 MB or so). Give it a try!
I do that organic singer/songwriter stuff, but w/o the loops or electronica (maybe some day!) Good luck!
