I´m going to purchase a new computer which I want mainly for audio recoording and possibly video editing. I would appreciate any suggestions of whether to get a system with an AMD or Pentium processor. I´m considering going with PCI Express and would like to know if this is the route to go. I´m also considering maybe getting a Power Mac G5. Thank You

The first thing you have to decide is what software you want to run. That is the deciding factor..... some packages only run on PC, some only on Mac.

Then decide what you can support or get local help on.

Otherwise, they BOTH WORK.

Not a spam. I don't know how to use computer recording. I just got a mpc 2000 and a triton extreme. Don't need my computer any more. I was only using it to do beats.

Well, posting the same thing on lots of topics is rude and unnecessary. One post in the Free Ads section is more than enough. Please delete the excessive posts.

jacobsen. search under my name for hundreds of tips posted in last year.
also read the amd 64 prices thread back a bit in this section of the bbs (ie; recording and soundcards). i think it will interest you.
after reading if you have any q's just ask.
note...unless your plug in crazy a amd athlon will do a great job.
it would be nice to know how many tracks you want to record at the same time. 1 ? 2 ? 4 ? 8 ? etc
