Master of the Obvious
I've been having some strange behavior w/ my Internet PC & trying for a few days to figure it out. Thought maybe someone here might be able to help.

I can't access Hotmail w/ Firefox or IE. I can't save any New Bookmarks. I can't use Windows Update (says page can not be displayed).

A Tech @ my ISP told me my TCPI connections could be corrupt and Windows Update may be able to fix it if one of the updates has a TCPI fix/update. But I can't access Win Update... Or the Support.Windows pages either.

I can surf pages (HR, Google ect...) that don't need immediate connection to my PC.

Most likely I need to Re-install Win XPpro but I'm trying to find the corrupt files. In the last week I was getting BSDs and found I had a Bad stick of RAM. Had a BSD saying my NTFS.sys file may be corrupt... I replaced it.

I'd like to find what the problem is before I RE-Install XP... more knowledge for the future. Any Ideas?

Thanks,
B.

XPsp2Pro, AMD1400, 256RAM (was 512),

Quick Update...

I got Automatic Updates to give me a list (pretty long) of Updates I need but when I've clicked Download but it just stays on 0% and won't Download.

I use Zone Alarm... I can't see this being the problem. Never had trouble before.

Hmmmmm?

Thanks for the help. :D

problem solved... for inquiring minds... it was the old WiFi Router trick.

I had the same thing happening, so I added 1g of RAM. Didn't change anything.

A installed Firefox and the problem went away. I see you're using Firefox so I don't know.
