I just picked up my first condenser microphone and found one of the minuses is the noise picked up from my pc. This is my main pc so I still need access to the drives and power buttons.

Anybody have a easy and inexpensive plan to put one together?

There is a regular article in the UK music mag Future Music and they tackled a similar problem with a Mac G4 by putting a duvet over it so that the narrow front and back were still open to aid ventilation. Now perhaps this is not a great idea generally as it will increase the heat within the desktop tower, but for the minutes you are recording it may make a difference.

No way to move the mic further from the computer? Record in a different room. They also actually put the duvet-ed Mac in another room in the article. Oh and also they put sound isolation screens in front of the ends of the Mac a small distance away to absorb sound. With these changes they said the difference was quite marked.

Sax.
