First, my gear:
Behringer MX602A (which works just fine, thank you)
Various microphones (SHure SM58, SM57, Marshall MXL1006, Marshall MXL603S plus some Nady stuff)...I'm recording acoustic guitar and vocals
All of the above work fine with my laptop (Sony VAIO), but the soundcard is less than optimum....so I decided to plug into my Micron PC (PIII 733) which has a SB PCI128.....and the sound difference is amazing (nuances, color....just astounding!!!)......but:
I've got noise that ends up on the recorded track....ten "pops", then a pause and then repeats.....I don't hear the noise while recording, and it shows up even with all mixer outputs zeroed.....it really stands out in quiet sections...
I've checked IRQs and ilk, without finding an obvious cause....any one been there and solved that??
TIA,
tbondo
