I would say they they are certainly not all created equal. For instance, I metered the Behringer. JUst patching through it added a little over .5db of noise. In the end, this is really nothin to worry about. What I did worry about however is how easily things plugged into it slide out of place, and was worried about the longevity of the jacks themselves and the per channel switches. I have bought a couple of AP audio patchbays (cheap ). They worked fine for close to 2 years and then started having noise and consistency issues. I think that somewhat constant use just wore them out. Now, I also have a militray ADC patchbay that I have been using for years now. It has been awesome, but then again new it was probably close to 1000. In the end, even with patchbays, you get what you pay for. Should everyone spend $750 or more per patchbay? I would think not. I have noticed though that if you pass up the $50 patchbays and head strraight for the $100 DBX ones or Neutrik ones that you get a more solid feeling patchbay that tends to last MUCH longer
