Will my PA system (Kustom profile one) work as an amp for passive monitors? Also, can you guys give me an example or, better yet, a link to a cheap set of passive monitors? I'm looking to stay below $100. I'm guessing passives are cheaper than actives?
thanks a lot

um.. you're going to need to spend quite a bit more than that for anything close to accurate near field monitoring... and if you're looking to trim fat, your best bet is to get active monitors as they have a power supply built in and you don't have to buy a reference amp to go with them...

I don't need anything great, and i've seen monitors for around 100 or less so that's what im looking for

if all you want is to be able to roughly here what your music might sound, use your hi-fi. it doesn't need to be way loud, as long as you're not in a huge room. i don't think studio monitors will have jack speaker connections either. if you're looking at the Alesis One Mk2 Passives (which are cheap but sound cacky, just use your hifi) then these would be your connection options:

5-way binding posts on 0.75" centers - can accept heavy-gauge speaker wire, banana plugs, spade plugs

hope that helps.
