Passing midi data from mac to pc

Hello:

I have an older mac (OS X 3.9 700mhz) that I'd like to use as a sequencer to play midi files and send the midi data to my main laptop (pc) running Hypersonic. The idea being that the mac would run something like Band in A box to play midi files but route the midi data to the PC to play the instrument sounds.

Is it possible to connect a mac to a pc using USB and have the PC recognize the mac as a seperate midi port?

nah probably not that easy.

why not just play the midi in a sequencer within your pc and route it internally?
