Panning Problems

the software that im using is guitar tracks pro when im in the mix view and i pan left it works fine but when i pan right its really quiet and has a funny reverb sound to it, iv double cheack my mointers to make sure there aint a problem there and they are both fine, anyone got any ideas

That's the problem then. It sounds like you are recording a mono source on the left side of a stereo track. Pan it left and you hear the recording, pan it right and you hear (essentially) silence.

Try recording it in mono. Then it should pan properly.

With some exceptions, there is normally no reason to record a mono source in stereo.
 
To amplify onwhat dachay says, it's you, the recording engineer/mixer, that makes the final result stereo. Stereo tracks essentialy are already panned. The only reasons to use stereo tracks for your sources are (a) if you are just going to leave them panned the way they are, or (2) you're trying to capture the stereo image of a real space.

It's very counter-intutive and tricky to try to change the panning of a stereo track, but it's easy as pie to work with mono tracks.
