Hi all,
My DAW is Cubase LE4. I'm still very new to it. So I have a Tascam US-144 usb2.0 interface. I mic my guitar amp with 2 mics (sm57, at3000l). I wanted to be able to record 2 tracks simultaniously. For a while I couldn't figure out how to do it in Cubase (it would always record stereo). So finally I was able to change my input and output settings via vst connections and I was able to record a seperate track for each mic. Now that I'm done the raw tracking I wanna go into the mixing phase. The problem is I'm not able to pan my mono tracks. The drum track was a previous recorded track that I exported to a wav then imported that wav to my current project. Now when I select that track I'm able to pan it (this track is in stereo). It's very weird and frustrating, and I'm hoping it's just a newbie mistake so here are a couple of screenshots that I took, hopefully they help. If you need more pictures or information let me know. Thanks

EDIT: (If you look at the very first picture on the left side where you change the panning it says "no panner")

This is because you have set Cubase to use a mono output.

Remove the two outputs you have, add a stereo output instead.

Panning question in Cubase SX3

Hi, guys.

I'm having a annoying issue with panning which I have not used to deal: Panning controls are moving randomly, and in a kind of "auto" way. I have 14 tracks recorded in mono. Everrything is fine excepting "that", for example: I pan track 10 (a tom) to the right, then track 13 (the floor tom) to the left. When Im doing this, the pan control of track10 moves randomly to any side of the stereo image, without follow a pattern. Then, supose I try to center the main voice, and at the right time i do this, track 10, 13, 6, whatever, moves around! I cant adjust a channel because the others change when I touch this one. Or even when I click on any window, or the tools bar.

I didn find any "reseter" for the pan control. Anyone know how to fix this, or why Cubase is doing it in this way. Its driving me crazy. It does it with any new or old projects I have.

And the same happens If I open the project In Cubase 5.
Automation was not used yet in this project, a live recording, and is deactivated.

Thanks :drunk::confused:

The most likely thing would seem to be that you think that there's no automation going on when there actually is.

If there's no automation, I'd suspect the program is screwed up and needs to be re-installed because there's nothing in Cubase except automation that can cause what you're talking about.

If it gets to the point where you're stumped, phone them. Emailing about problems like this takes too long.
