pan automation recording for DXI

I have a problem with panning automation for a Dxi synthy.

When I arm the panning fader for the audio track, the "automation record button" is still grayed out.
And worse, I can't even record any automation on any track in my project.

I don't have this problem in other projects. And when I delete all the DXi tracks, the midi and the audio, then it works again.
A bug?

I hope somebody has an answer to my problem.

Isn't it easier to make a pan-envelope?
Rightclick on the Audio Output track. Select "Envelopes -> Create Track Envelope -> Pan". Then you can really go crazy with pan-automation! Double-click the line for a node, drag it up or down for panning left or right, create new nodes and go nuts! Right click on the envelope between two nodes and you can select wich curve to go between the two nodes....

Envelopes work with almost everything you want to automate!

Thanx man but guess what. I tried that too but the slider wouldn't move the synth stay on 1400 hour.
It's a bug, definitely.

I'm frustrated.

I record it now to a different audio track and delete all the dxi instruments. In that way I can automate them.

If you automate the pan on the Audio Output Track (to the Synth), you're basically doing what you're doing now, but you won't need to record it to track first.

What synth is it? If it doesen't work with the MIDI-pan, do you know which MIDI Controller that let you use the Synths pan?

It is the absynth from NI. I don't know which midi controller.
I think that the absynth is interfering. May be it is Sonar, I've got still the first version.

Check the manual. It should be there if the pan is meant to be automated... I don't use Absynth, so I don't know.
