Paiste alpha cymbals?

Has anyone had any experience with them? Are they durable and never break? Do they become dead after a while? Or are they damn good?
Pro's ? con's?

I desperatly need to upgrade from my broken zlidjian zbt's That sounded like crap anyway

Its eather going for the paiste alpha's or strecth and get sabian AA or AA x's.

Opinions please. Oh and by the way i am going to the shop to test them out before i buy them, i just want to have a vague idea of what to get before hand.

I prefer cymbals to be quite bright and love the sound of the paiste alpha 18" crash (maybe rock) on their site.

Im going to get 1n 18" and eather a 15" or 16" crash to start with then when i have more money get some more etc.. Thanks

I personally like the Alpha's. No cymbal is guaranteed to never break. If you have a problem breaking cymbals, you may need to reassess your cymbal placement (as in height and angle) and the actual strike you use.

I prefer very thin cymbals, which give you a bit more of a darker, or low end sound....I just find them to be a lot more subtle, but if you like brighter cymbals - then by all means go for it! They are good cymbals.

They are okay cymbals. I'd listen to every cymbal I could get my hands on and get the ones that I like and go well together. Stand back and let somebody else hit them, then decide.

They're pretty decent. Nice sound and good volume. Not as good as 2002's or Signature's, but WAY better than ZBT's.

The alpha's are great cymbals, but not really that bright, IMO. They are plenty tough, just hit them properly and no problems should arise
I normally like the alpha's because they are not so bright I use them for dark accents or very subtle crashes

If you want bright than the AA metal X's will get you that, they are my main cymbals, but even the sabian 16 inch b8 and B8 pro's are bright I still use one B8 pro 16 inch medium crash for bright and quick crashes, it gets in and out and does not walk on my singers vocals while we play live or at practice.
Just high end cut and very short sustain, but not as bright as a splash.
