ive been working on this for a few days, and i need some fresh ears to hear it and give me some feedback please.

rolling stones - paint it black

any comments are greatly appreciated. :)

Hey Mick!!!! Great vocal rendition of this. People have told me I sound like Mick when I do "Sympathy for the Devil", but you really got it down. I'd like to hear more drums, but take into account that I tend to mix my drums too loud in many people's opinion. Great tune and great choice for a cover.

I'm wirh RAMI on more drums, or bring the vocals down just a small amount.

Hey, I liked this one a lot!

It has an ultra-modern high energy overdriven slam to the guitar sound, way more than the original.

Good playing. Good singing.

Maybe,... beef up the drums and bass a bit, & that might help buffer the vocal presence and guitars, & maybe help unify the sound more.

That's a really good cover,... as is. Any of my comments are about subtleties of the sound, not about anything that's drastically wrong with the mix.;)

lol. thanks a lot guys. i do appreciate the compliments.

rami - thanks a lot. i wasnt intentionally trying to sound like mick, i think you just cant help it sometimes when singing a stones song. especially this one.

timboz - thanks for the feedback. i think i agree with you guys that it needs more drums after hearing it this morning with fresh ears.

a reel person - thanks for the feedback and compliments. im gonna do some minor tweaking to the drums and bass today. my overall goal with this one was to keep it very true to the original as far as the arrangement and vocal style goes, but just blow it up with electric guitars and bigger drums.

thanks again guys. :)

okay, i tweaked the drums, bass, and vocals a little. see if this is better:

the singing sounds good, i like the sound of your voice. I also dig the iron maiden guitar harmonies at the end of the song. The mix sounds pretty good, the drums get a little bit karaoke in some places but its not that bad.

I just meant they kind of reminded me of listening to a karaoke CD, its not that bad really, just something that popped into my head. I just listened to the second mix and it sounds a lot better.
