I'm trying to understand their use. Should I be able to run my guitar through one of their pre's I could run the output into the power section of a solid state amp to get a different/better tone? What other applications are there or did I totally miss the idea and this isn't even a proper application?

i'm not really aware of what they are selling now.... but alotta their stuff was craig anderton stomp-box kits as i recall... so it may well be a guitar level device... what did their site say or is this a used item???

What preamp are you talking about ?? Ive built a "Stack In a Box" and threw a 15 band eq after it and a 100w Power amp ....

Here"s a Pic ....

How does it sound ?? Freaking awesome !!! But what makes it sound awesome has a lot to do with a few mods I did to the design and the 15 band eq .....

Ive also built a 4 band adjustable frequency EQ from PAiA but I am haveing problems with it .....

I also have a PCB design for the stack in the box but I can"t post it cuz well it isn"t my design but I might be willing to share it if you contact me personally and promice not to share it with others ....

The Stack in a Box has a Lot of uses , You can put it in front of a Power amp like I did or you can use it for recording as it has a DI output and Speaker simulators ......

Which one are you talking about? I just bought the $10 #98 transistor kit to make a small footprint mic/inst preamp. I'll post here how it sounds after I've built it. BTW, I built the parametric EQ (if that is what Minion is referring to) w/o issue, but I couldn't fit it in the PAIA rack case, the PCB was too close to the edge. Had to put a blank panel in the rack, and leave it open. Otherwise sounds OK.
