I just bought a yamaha emx62m powered mixer off of ebay.

I was seeking some advice on what kind of speakers to buy?

Also I was wondering where I could learn what all the information listed in the specification actually mean.

Thanks for anyone's help and patience

I think the yamaha club series speakers are a good bet...

2 of these would do it, and could later be used as monitors if you get a bigger system. (200 watts into 4 ohms isn't really that much power)

These would sound a little beefier:

This mixer is supposed to be matched to work best with the club series... You can get other new speakers cheaper than this, but they probably won't sound good. (I've heard the Nady speakers before... pretty lame.) I think the Club series is a good value.

Used you want to find two 8ohm speakers that handle at least 200 watts each.

thank you for the advice, gorbyrun

i'm going to seriously look into the 10''
they seem very reasonbly priced

hey, how much was the mixer?
so would you say that its "safe" to buy in ebay??
i've never tried it
