Can anyone give me some tips on how to eliminate at least some of the popping noise that is coming from the vocals whenever there is a word with a p or b in it? I'm using a c3000b, but i also have a c1000s available. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks

Well... for one, you should be using a pop screen. Also, the talent shouldn't be "eating" the mic - have them back off about 6 inches...

Try writing lyrics without any p's or b's in them. Also try to avoid s's, f's and d's. Sure, it limits the lyrical content, but it's a lot easier to record :-)
Seriously, I don't know if this is a recommendable method or not, but what I do is just try to blow my p's and b's slightly out of axis, so that the mic doesn't get the big blows which causes the pops. If you do it well it won't affect the sound, but it could affect your performance having to think about it...

i pop screened from probably about 1 inch from the mic, and mouth 1~3 inches from the screen (depending on movement etc.) and there were no pops. and it sounds really good. i think screens vary differently but nobody talks about them really, i have no idea what the good or bad ones are.

Other then suggested,
* Move the mic a bit above or below the singers mouth.
* Point the mic at an angle to the singer
* Move the mic very close to the singer if using a dynamic mic.
* Turn down low freq's (under 100Hz) at pop or "B" using a DAW or a fast hand movment

* Use a compressor with a EQ to trigger the compressor (use the search to understand this)
