Hey
Does anyone use Ozone plugin? What do you think about it?
I have cakewalk 9.0 and they say to use it for final mix/mastering.
Because of the cpu strain.
Not to use it on individual tracks. Is this plugin as good as they claim? For $200 is it worth it? Does anybody know of a similar plugin?

Thanks,

Gidman

The Ozone plugin works very well. It is a DX plugin you use for last step mastering. It's got all the fx. (paragraphic eq, Loudness maximizer, multiband harmonic exiter, multiband dynamics, multiband stereo imaging and even mastering reverb that actually works pretty good.

I'd say the Ozone is worth the $200 but not a whole lot more.

I have used it on a few songs with good results, but I still prefer my waves bundle over it any day.

If you are on a limited budget, like me, Ozone is te best I have found for the bucks

Thanks,
I already knew what it would do. Whats the link for wave
direct x plugin bundle? How much is that plugin?

I've had ozone since they released it... I have found it works very well for me. I have not used waves, so I can't compare it to that. I have read a lot of peoples threads that compare it to waves favorably though. I t has certainly helped alot for me in the final stages. I think its worth every penny of the $200 bucks it sells for. Just my 2cents worth. Good luck.

Thanks Gamut,

The reason I am looking at different plugins is that I bought Cakewalks FX 1. I'm not real happy with it...I have the demo version of Ozone...I will give it a spin...

Thanks again...

Here's the link for Waves Ltd. http://www.waves.com/

There are several "bundles" available, but this stuff is expensive. The Gold bundle is the best of the lot, but runs around $1K. The plugins also tend to be very resource intensive on a PC (not sure if they're any better on a Mac).

The Power Pack is also a pretty good option and I think only :) runs around $300 or so.

I haven't tried Ozone, so I can't compare the two. I think both (Waves and Ozone) have demo downloads available - which you may want to look into before plunking down your $$.
