I've recently begun setting up a small studio in my spare bedroom, and wanted to get an opinion on something. My setup is as follows:
Audiophile 2496
Behringer Ub1202
I'm running the output of my soundcard into a channel on the mixer and I have my studio monitors hooked up to the mixer. Now, I'm trying to figure out a good way to do overdubbing with this setup. I want to be able to run the output of the mixer into the soundcard without getting the output of the computer run in as well. I want to be able to put on my headphones and listen to the output of the computer while doing this. This is mainly going to be for recording vocals. I thought about doing something like getting a headphone amp and splitting the output from the soundcard such that one split goes to the headphone amp and the other goes to the mixer. This way I could just turn off the studio monitors that are hooked up to the mixer when recording vocals and still listen to the output in my headphones. However, I wanted to see if anyone else had any better suggestions as I am a bit new to this thing.
Thanks!
