Here is what I find (my personal opinion) with songs of this genre, and I do work with this style with some creative guys:
Nobody will get it more than you do. Your lyrics surely mean the world to you personally but If you don't do something unique that touches others, then it sounds the same as any other dood spitting his emotions. Posting shorts of what you have to say just gives no meaning to what the genre is about and absolutely no depth in what your songs are really about. Make sense?
Not just the sound of your tunes that has something to say. You gotta do something unique man that gives a listener a reason to hear your words. Otherwise it just sounds like the same old shit.
