Hi,

I record using midi and audio. I have a problem with the dxi's and my keyboard when I press stop because the sound keeps on going. I have to open the dxi and press the panic button everytime I playback and stop in the middle of the song.

Is there a way to assing an "all notes OFF" function when I stop?

I am losing so much time in opening the dxi window. On my keyboard I just have to press a physical button, not too much of a problem but still inconvenient.

Regards,

Thierry

There used to be a panic button in Pro Audio 9 and earlier, right on the tool bar -- had an image of Edvard Munch's famous painting "The Scream" as the button icon.

Funny, I just looked in the SONAR 2.2 help, and the only place a panic button turns up is in the description of the Cakewalk.ini file parameters -- there's one there for how the Panic message is to be sent - note off messages, or a controller message that's defined as "all notes off." But the button iteslf is not documented, leading me to think it's been removed. It might be very easy to rig up a little CAL routine to take its place that you could invoke with a keyboard shortcut...

Wow, that is too complicated for me... So they removed the panic button, I would need a command that would do a panic EVERYTIME I press stop!!!

Anyone has the same problem?

Sonar should send out "stop all" command when you hit the stop-button.

Well The problem is that when you stop in the middle of a midi note, the "note off" command didn't apply so the dxi still waits for the "note off" command.

Am I the ony one with the problem?

In Sonar 2.2 there is a panic button in the play/record bar. Its next to the audio engine on/off button. It has a yellow exclamation mark on it. I sometimes get stuck notes when playing midi files if I stop during play. This always gets me out of trouble.

That's what I was looking for! thanks groover_jon.
