Hi there,

I believe this to be a simple question but I can't find an answer to it. If I buy sonar will it output to a toneport with headphones plugged in? My recording rig is pretty simple. I plug into my toneport and want to use Sonar as my recording program, with cakewalk guitar pro3 as my amp/rack, then output the audio to the toneport with headphones. I know that these programs don't just output on your computer speakers for some reason, or maybe they do if you fiddle with the settings....

Thanks

you should have no problem at all installing toneport with sonar, what model do you have?

You WILL want to make sure you've purchased, or already have the Toneport's Gearbox Plug-in. The Toneport will serve as your ONLY soundcard I/O, yes. But to use Gearbox software from within Sonar, you'll need the plugin.

I have the ux2. So I have to use gearbox if I want to use my toneport with Sonar? I am not a fan of alot of the mods on there, I will have to find the least invasive. But it will defintely output directly to headphones plugged in the toneport, I won't have to connect an amp or speaker to it and plug headphones into that? I was using ableton live and for some reason it made me do that...
