Hi, I'm new here, and also new to computer recording. I use a Focusrite Saffire and Tracktion on my Macbook to record and headphones to monitor.
My DAW setup is fine and works but my question lies in why: when I play the keyboard (which is plugged into the Saffire box), the outputs sound very... how should I put it... dry, unscrisp, and not how it's supposed to sound as if when I plug my headphones directly into the keyboard which is how it's supposed to sound. When I record a track, the playback sounds perfectly good - it's just that when I'm recording and monitoring myself, I don't hear what I should be hearing in playback which is very strange. This has nothing to with volume or panning adjustments or computer sound. I don't know what I need to configure in setup to make playback and headphone output sound the same.
