urei LA-10 compressor/limiter - $300
nice, clean compressor. great metering on this, you can squash without much artifacts. minor scuff marks on the knobs, etc. also, the LED for the bypass switch has fallen into the unit. you can easily open it up and push it back in place, but I can't be bothered. this was recently serviced by EARS in nyc and is in perfect working condition.
alesis micro limiter - $75
I purchased a couple of these after I read that they were used on drums during the mixing of interpol's first CD...I happen to love the sound of that record. I bought two thinking they were single channel comps, but in actually this is a stereo unit. no power adapter, but you can purchase one at radioshack or through alesis (I can give you the rep contact info and adapter model number). sounds suprisingly cool, I am keeping the other one.
