Using Cubase SX with an Echo Mia MIDI. I am plugging directly into the 1/4 inch inputs in the back of the card.
I have Echo Mia ASIO driver selected and have the clock set to Console. The console is set to internal. I get the following error a few seconds after I begin recording:

Asio Engine Record Error: Audio Engine Error: ASIO went out of sync.

Records but not reliably when using the other ASIO driver (standard driver)

Can anyone help? Will supply more information as is necessary.

ASIO engine error

Hello Kproper,

I have just read your message in the forum. And I seem to be experiencing the same problem.

I am getting the same error " ASIO engine record error: Audio engine error:ASio went out of sync", did anybody get back to you? or did you manage to get around this? It would be very helpful to know as it is a little frustrating!!

By the way my pc is Amd 1.8 ghz,1gb ram, sound card Soundblaster live. And using Cubase SX.

Hope you could be of help!
Thanks!!
Palomares.

Audio engine error

Hi,

Playing around I have realised that if you ensure that the 'Sync button on the Transport bar is off' this may help a little!!

Don't ask me why!! or how!!! but by doing this this it has reduced considerably the amount of times I get the error!!!

I must say that I am new to Cubase SX and home recording! So trying to understand how it all works and links together!

Also by doing tests: browsing the internet and opening up applications at the same time doesn't help so I recommend not to.(I have dial up connection).

Must say that so far I have only been recording Audio. So I don't know whether I will get the error message again when I come to record Midi from an external device.

Anyway
Hope this is of help!

And if it does work for you and you or anyone knows the reason why!! Please let me know!!!

Cheers!
Palomares!.

I think the reason why is because it's either a demo copy or a cracked copy.

That and how reliable is a SoundBlaster Live using ASIO drivers?
