Hi everyone,

First thing first, I hope I am posting in the right section.

We are a Belgo - American pop duo and we wanted to ask opinions on our music.

Here's one cover ('Crazy', by Gnarls Barkley) and one original.

Please feel free to let us know what you think, we're interested on people's feelings about our music, in order to always get better.

Nice original. Just a little too much reverb for my taste, and an odd flavored reverb...almost like it was recorded in an untreated room with poor acoustics. But great playing and singing. Beautiful voice and nice acoustic tone.

Better tail on the reverb on the cover, but still has that odd tone to the reverb. Not so noticeable when it's not ringing out as hard. There's a noticeable pop at 3:40.

You have one of the best voices I've heard in years. Great control, good vibrato, great loud and quiet voicing. :)

Good playing and a very nice voice. I could have done with a little less breathiness, matter of personal taste. I agree with the comment above about the reverb. Her voice doesn't need much treatment. I'd lean on the dry side, with just enough reverb to create a hint of space around her. There is a bit of a metallic clang to that reverb that, like Broken_H, made me think of the unwanted ambiance from a small room. Hopefully it's not that. I'd get a better sounding reverb and do some pre-reverb EQ on the reverb bus to tighten it up and get it out of the way of the vocals. Somebody on here posted a link to the "Abby Road reverb trick." Some of us have been using that and getting good results.

Thanx guys for your comments!

What you hear is actually the room. A small room without sound isolation, that creates that metallic reverb. We're starting to hang sheets and other "reflection killers" and it looks like it's doing the job :-)

That's too bad. Then you're probably looking at re-tracking the vocal to get rid of that ambiance. Oh well, she's good; she'll be able to do it again as well or better.

Thanx for her :-)
