Please help, if you can. I need an in-line amp for a single set of headphones. I need to amplify the audio out(s) from an LCD TV for a seriously hearing-impaired person. The standard headphone jacks/outputs that come on some smaller TVs work fine, but headphone outputs are very difficult to find on larger TVs. Does anybody know of a small RCA input-->headphone output amp? Something like a Behri AMP800 is overkill and requires a spagetti salad of adapters and cables for this application.

Thanks, in advance,
Paj

I just looked over a bunch of Stereo Headphone amps. You can check Google for a gaggle of amps. I use a Rolls 4 amp unit. However, I'm not quite sure if that will work but it should work if you gimmick it to patch to the TV.

The Berringer models are several but do look like plastic.

Cost for most run between 40/100 pezzutos.

Just a week ago, watching an infomertial on TV, a simple unit runs 20 bucks. This unit is to HEAR the unit by just clipping it on one's ear. This is kind of like listening voice from a good distance. It's probably a frugal type of unit; however, this unit just might be an asset to the person with impaired hearing.

It is possible to hook-up regular cans with a hook-up to add any type of headphone connection. Should not be too hard to get it done. Also, some person on the site here might be able to give you more info.

Good luck.

"Electronic Projects For Musicians" has a chapter on building a single-channel headphone amp. If you have the time, this would probably be your cheapest way to go.

the brand name is called "T.V. Ears"
RCA ins and wireless headphone outs. Cheap, effective.

Thanks, everyone---you gave me some new paths to investigate.
