I'm a guitar player that just happened to get into recording. I will always consider myself a guitar player first and a recordist (is that a word?) second.

For all intensive purposes, I have what I would consider my ideal setup for guitar. There are a few changes that I would make, but the core would stay the same. Function would be the same...

Well, since "finalizing" my guitar setup, that obession has moved into recording gear...wanting the best that I can afford so I can get the best results possible. Wanting to learn as much as I can so I can move efficiently, know what I'm doing, etc.

Has anyone else had this happen?

Haha.. If you only knew the extent of it.. I started out on guitar when I was 6... Never fathomed all this back then!

lol I feel your pain. So much that my g/f calls the bedroom that my gear resides in, the "nerd room" ;) No matter what you are doing, how "set" you think you are, there is ALWAYS going to be something you want/need, get use to it.

Oh, I'm plenty used to it. Been into recording for a while now. I think the real reason I'm posting this is because the need for new and better recording gear is hitting me pretty heavy lately.

The way I deal with it is shopping at thrift stores for random equipment (mics, reel to reel, and such)... It's a much cheaper addiction... And quite possibly more fun than blowing all my dough just to get a rush... ;)

I would do that....but I don't want random junk. That's my point. I want good stuff. When I said I had my guitar setup finalized, I didn't mean I was playing an Epiphone through a Line 6 Spider... :D
