This is my first real attempt at a mix. It was a one take shot with my band, then I went back and overdubbed the drums. The bass was DI'd and the guitar was mic'd with an SM57 off axis on the grill. The drums were XY OH, and an SM57 on the snare, Beta52 on kick just inside the front head. Each of the toms was close mic'd as well, but just blended in for a little more tone.
The problem I'm having is that if I get it at a decent volume it doesn't sound all that great. The lower volume sounds better I think. Could you guys tear this appart and give me some tips.
As it stands it's just instruments until we get a decent vocal part going.
