I'm interested in buying a AD30R combo. I like the sound of this valve amp. Does anyone have one? What do you think about it? How does it sound? Cheers

Crikey mate!
I haven't seen one of those beasts in years(70s).You must be a brit.My sole experience with an orange amp was that it was a Marshall-like tube amp with tone that went on for days. The model I played through was a 100 watt head with a 4-12 cabinet, covered in orange tolex that was button-tufted like an old chevy. It was heavy as a tank and construction looked like it was hand-done point to point wiring.
Just an old memory and they may be shit now,but I sure thought orange amps were excellant.

A word of advice!

Ear plugs. Orange amps sound the best, but are very very loud. This could be true to you but I haven't seen the model you are refering to.

Orange

I had an Orange 80 watt head in 1981.....what a tone! I ran it through an old basketweave Marshall bottom. My repairman said that he had never seen such a well built amp.

The new orange amps are the ones you are talking about I assume. From what I saw of them shortly after last year's winter NAMM, they were great. Yeah, they were loud, but great tone. I don't know if i played one that was valve or not, I would try to get an all tube one if possible. I know you can get a full stack complete with orange tolex and all that jazz for around 1200, but combos I am sure are cheaper, much cheaper. Sorry, I don't know more specifics, but Orange amps, in general, still very cool.

I saw Jimmy Page using an Orange amp playing with the Black Crowes. Jes' an interesting tidbit for your consideration...
